Paid to rant? I’m in!
October 3, 2005 6:33 amToday’s SPOTD was beneficial to me. Back in July I answered survey questions posed by a telephone-based market researcher. After a number of years being employed as “those people that always call during dinner”, we feel it part of our duty to help them out where we can. The survey was about supermarkets, and turned out to be sponsored by Coles Myer (supermarket and department store group) in that they rang back a couple of months later to ask if I’d be interested in a follow-up survey whereby they video-taped me providing my views.
Hmmm… You want to provide financial reimbursement to listen to me rant about the state of customer appreciation in supermarkets? That’s why they win my SPOTD award - I’d probably do it for free. There’s already a SPOTD about the Bi-Lo supermarket (part of the Coles Myer family) online from 2003 which details my love for them.
Okay, well perhaps doing it for free is a bit much since I know they’ll cut my comments out and 98% will be on the cutting room floor. Still, getting paid $250 (in the form of a store card, admittedly) is not to be sneezed at. All I have to do is figure out a way I can obtain permanent employment as “paid ranter” and I’ll be set…*grin*
