A tale of SPOTD behaviour that worked out in my favour. Looking for a bite to eat, I wandered over to the Donut King and requested six cinnamon donuts. Okay, so more than a bite to eat. Back off. Donuts are g-o-o-d.

The girl began putting the donuts into a bag for me. After a few donuts were in the bag (I was not really paying attention to what she was doing since I was getting out cash to pay for them), she turned to confirm I wanted six donuts. I responded that was the case and she turned back to the donut-making machine.

After filling the bag, she came back to the counter and charged me for six donuts. I paid, grabbed a donut in one hand and began walking away with the bag of donuts in the other hand. It occurred to me after the second donut that all was not right - there were a lot of donuts in the bag.

In the end, it turned out there were fourteen donuts I’d been given, though my SPOTD had only charged for six. Hurrah. It turned out to be quite the fortunate outcome…
